Our Fellowship Program provides early-career professionals with the skills, experience, and networks they need to become leaders in their fields.

Program Overview

The ACHSER Fellowship is a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about improving health, social, and economic well-being in Africa. This comprehensive program combines:

  • Training and Workshops: Intensive sessions on key topics such as public health, epidemiology, health economics, data analysis, research methods, proposal writing, and project management.
  • Mentorship: Fellows are paired with experienced mentors in their field of interest, receiving guidance, support, and career advice through regular one-on-one meetings.
  • Research Projects: Fellows undertake independent or collaborative research projects addressing pressing health and social issues in Africa, with opportunities to publish findings and present at conferences.
  • Field Experience: Practical experience through placements in healthcare facilities, NGOs, or government agencies, providing hands-on involvement in program design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Networking Opportunities: Access to a network of professionals, researchers, and policymakers, with opportunities to participate in seminars, conferences, and workshops.
  • Funding and Resources: Provision of stipends, research grants, and access to necessary resources and facilities, including support for fieldwork and conference travel.
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Regular assessments to monitor progress and provide constructive feedback, culminating in a final evaluation to measure the impact of the fellowship on skills and career development.
Who Should Apply?

We seek highly motivated individuals with:

  • A strong commitment to improving health, social, and economic well-being in Africa.
  • A Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, economics, social sciences, or a related field.
  • A demonstrated interest in research and a desire to develop practical skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
